RATES

A Few Guidelines

Voice-over rates depend on several factors: the medium (video games, animation, film, narration), the market (indie, national, international), script length, and overall usage.

• Rates can be structured per project, per script length, or per word.

• The more details you provide, the easier it is to quote accurately and deliver exactly what you need.

• Prices listed are starting rates—custom quotes are available based on project scope.

• I’m happy to provide a free sample before confirming a booking.

Rates Overview

Video Games & Animation

• $300 per hour + usage fees (typically session fee again).

• Indie projects are priced according to the VAC rate guide.

Narration & Commercial Work

• Starting at $375 per session, covering professional recording, editing, and non-broadcast online usage (client websites, internal training, e-learning).

• Retakes are included for performance adjustments (not script changes).

Audiobooks

• Rates depend on the level of production needed:

  • Fully edited & proofed audio – $450 per finished hour.

  • Raw recording – Custom pricing available.

E-Learning

• Raw audio: $0.12 per word.

• Edited audio: $0.20 per word.

• Edited + File Creation: $0.24 per word.

• Minimum order: $250.

Advertising & Broadcast Usage

• Online ads & VOD: Usage fees depend on campaign scale. Estimated impressions help determine pricing.

• TV Ads: Pricing is calculated using industry-standard tools like usefee.tv.

Payment Terms

• Payment is due within 30 days of invoicing via bank transfer.

• PayPal payments must be agreed in advance and incur a 6% processing fee.

• Late payments exceeding 30 days without prior agreement will incur fees as per the Late Payment of Commercial Debt Act (2002).

Usage & Licensing

• All quoted rates cover specific usage terms outlined in the invoice.

• Full copyright and intellectual property rights remain with the voice actor until payment is received in full.

• Upon payment, a license is granted for the agreed-upon usage, duration, and geographical region specified in the invoice.

• AI and synthetic voice usage is strictly prohibited across all platforms and mediums, both current and future.

• Any additional usage beyond what was originally agreed requires a new licensing agreement and fee.

Revisions & Retakes

Self-Directed Sessions

• I will provide a sample read for approval before recording the full project.

• If the approach was agreed upon but adjustments are needed after delivery, I will provide retakes at no additional cost.

• Script changes after recording will incur a revision fee proportional to the extent of the change.

Directed Sessions

• Clients can listen in and provide live feedback via Zoom, Skype, Cleanfeed, Source Connect, or ipDTL.

• Every take from the session will be provided so you can select the final version.

• If the session runs beyond the agreed time, additional fees will be charged based on my standard studio rate of $300 per hour.

  • Up to 15 extra minutes: $75

  • Additional 30 minutes: $150

  • Over 30 minutes: Full hourly rate applies

Once a recording is approved and invoiced, the project is considered finalized. Any further changes will be treated as a new order.
